A Day In Montserrat

A Day In Montserrat

Goodbye March, Hello April.

Last week I went to Montserrat (Barcelona, Spain) with my family and I wanted to share my experience with you all.

There are two ways to go to Montserrat. The first one is by train and then by the Montserrat Rack railway; the other one is by train and then by the cableway. We normally use the first way but since they were on a streak that day, we used the second way.
After an hour in the train on our way to Montserrat, we finally made it to the cableway. While we were in line waiting for our cableway to arrive, I decided to take some photos because I get so bored while I’m waiting in the queue. After 30 minutes or so, we finally made it to the Monastery.

Then we went to the Holy Grave. We walked for like 40-60 minutes from the Monastery until we arrived there. The views were amazing and so beautiful.

After that, we went to the new buffet restaurant. I love buffets restaurants so much, even though it’s pretty difficult to choose what to eat because there are so many options. After looking around all the food stands, I decided to go with a salad, some salmon and paella. It was all so fresh and delicious. Also, I had some profiteroles with caramel syrup for dessert.
After leaving the buffet restaurant we made a quick stop to the little local market where they sell honey, quince, mató (a fresh cheese of Catalonia made from cows’ or goats’ milk, with no salt added) and a lot of other different cheese. We bought some heather honey, thyme honey and honey with honeycomb.
Also, we went to the souvenir shop to take a look on the new things, etc. I didn’t buy anything but my aunt bought some mason jars.
When it was time to go home, the sky was so grey and it started to rain, not too much, though.
