Celebrating My 20th Birthday

Celebrating My 20th Birthday

My 20th Birthday was this past weekend, May 14th, and I went to Barcelona to celebrate it with some friends.

My 20th Birthday was this past weekend, May 14th, and I went to Barcelona to celebrate it with some friends. The places we went were: A Casa Portuguesa and Focaccieria Toscana Pizzeria.

First things first, I don’t usually celebrate my birthday but this year I did and I had so much fun.

The first thing we did on Saturday was having breakfast at A Casa Portuguesa, a little yet so beautiful cafeteria. It was my first time there and everything we had was SO delicious. Their most popular pastry is Pastel de Belem, a little puff pastry filled with cream. You can eat it with some cinnamon or not, it’s optional. Then we had some Portuguese doughnuts (Bola de Berlim). They have two types of  Bola de Berlim: filled with cream or filled with chocolate. I had the cream one and it tasted like heaven. We had to wait like an hour or so until the Portuguese doughnuts were ready. I hate waiting but this time was worth it. While we were waiting they also offered us some chocolate brownies. They were SO delicious, even though I don’t like chocolate things so much.

This place has also a little corner with magazines and a stand with some board games, like Uno or Scrabble. They also had some Portuguese books, as well. On the left side of the cafeteria they have some boxes with a lot of old vinyls and you can play them on their record player.

Besides the things we had at A Casa Portuguesa, they also have a lot of different cakes, brownies, bread… They also have a lot of different bottles of wines, juices, coffee…

After we finished our breakfast we went walking until Las Ramblas. We made so many stops looking in clothing, homeware and stationery shops. We didn’t buy anything. After walking for a long time and taking a lot of photos, we decided to stop to eat lunch at Focacceria Toscana Pizzeria.

I’ve never went to this pizzeria before but my friends did and they said that their pizza was so good. We ordered a salad, some french fries and three slices of pizza. I ordered a caprese pizza (tomato and pesto) and my friends ordered a hawaiian pizza and a pepperoni pizza. They weren’t wrong. Those pizzas were SO delicious.

After we finished lunch we went to Urban Outfitters and then we headed home.

I had an amazing day with my friends and then I watched Eurovision while eating dinner with my family.

Thank you to my friends, my family and everyone for all the birthday wishes. A new chapter of my life is starting and I am beyond excited to see what happens this year!

What did you do this weekend?

Until the next post,

Jeff. x
